In February it was decided to go ahead and have printed five copies of our WW1 research for schools, libraries, our own archive and a copy available for loan by parishioners.
Most of our meeting was taken up, splitting into groups to discuss ideas for the coming year’s research, visits, talks, and summer outside meeting to fulfil our aims of recording, sharing and communicating Cowling Parish’s rich past.
We also had two history related enquiries which we were able to help with. One was regarding the late Jonas Bradley, Head Master of Stanbury School in the early 20th century.
The Picture shown with this article is A Bit of Mory by Daniel Binns. Daniel drew this in his sketch book on active service in Belgium in WW1. We thank David and Molly Binns, Daniel’s son and his wife for donating the picture.
